Volunteers, Coaches, & Hired Staff
Release & Liability Waiver

I understand that participation as a volunteer or staff member with the Palm Beach County Police Athletic League (PAL) may involve physical activity, interaction with youth participants, travel, and use of recreational facilities, all of which may carry certain inherent risks despite reasonable safety precautions. By serving as a volunteer, coach or hired staff with PAL, I acknowledge and voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in PAL programs, activities, events, and operations.

I authorize Palm Beach County PAL and its representatives to obtain emergency medical treatment on my behalf should an injury, illness, or medical emergency occur while participating in PAL-related activities. I understand that any medical expenses incurred are my responsibility unless otherwise covered by applicable insurance or organizational policy.

I further grant permission to Palm Beach County PAL, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, and affiliated partners to photograph, videotape, or otherwise record me while participating in PAL programs, activities, or events. I authorize the use of such photographs, video, or recordings for promotional, educational, training, or documentary purposes without compensation.

I acknowledge that I have received, read, and understand all PAL policies, procedures, safety expectations, and codes of conduct applicable to volunteers and staff. I understand that failure to comply with organizational policies, safety standards, professional expectations, or supervisory direction may result in disciplinary action, suspension, or termination of my volunteer or employment status.

In consideration of being permitted to participate as a volunteer or staff member, I release, waive, discharge, and agree to hold harmless the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, Palm Beach County PAL, National Association of Police Athletic Leagues, and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, contractors, representatives, and volunteers from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, injuries, losses, demands, or causes of action arising from or related to my participation in PAL activities, including transportation and use of facilities, except where prohibited by law. This release includes claims arising from ordinary negligence to the fullest extent permitted by law.

I certify that I am voluntarily participating as a PAL volunteer or staff member, that I am physically capable of performing assigned duties, and that I understand and accept the responsibilities and risks associated with my role.
