COMPUTER LAB POLICY

The Computer Lab is available for Youth Center participants only. All participants must sign in before using a computer.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • Homework use has priority over all other computer activities.

  • Food and drinks are not permitted in the Computer Lab.

  • Chairs must remain inside the Computer Lab at all times.

  • Horseplay, roughhousing, or any form of physical activity is not allowed.

  • Always ask staff for help if you encounter a warning message, error, or computer malfunction.

PROHIBITED ACTIVITES

  • Downloading or installing any programs or software.

  • Viewing, downloading, or sharing explicit or inappropriate material.

  • Using instant messaging services (even those within games i.e. Roblox)

  • Visiting terrorist-related, weapon-related, gaming, or gambling websites.

  • Changing screen savers, backgrounds, system settings, or computer configurations.

  • Accessing or modifying the Windows Task Manager or any operating system settings.
    Violation will result in loss of Computer Lab privileges.

FILE SAVING & ACCESS

  • Do not save files or work to the computer’s hard drive.

  • Participants must save all personal work on their own external storage (USB, cloud account, etc.).

Staff reserve the right to open or close the Computer Lab during regular operating hours. Failure to follow Computer Lab rules may result in temporary or permanent loss of privileges.
